Cycling as my second job

Cycling as my second job

During the last year or so I have decided to take the enduring task of becoming a faster and more fit cyclist. But it is not until recently that I have noticed that this task is probably more involving and requires more of my effort than any other thing in my life, even work. Cycling to many is just a sport, just another thing to do but to me and to any other athlete is not just that but more, to us cycling is our style of life.

I have learned that if you want to be good at it you have to spend a lot of time training for it, not only physically but mentally as well. It is an endurance event, one that will test the capabilities of all the racers and the one that is fastest and that is able to take the most will be the victorious. In average I spend around 10 hours per week on my bike, which does not sound much but after adding up the time that it takes to prepare to ride, after the ride, going to the gym, reading about new techniques, analyzing your power meter files and so on it adds up to about 20 hours per week which to a lot of people is pretty much a second job. But on this one I do not get paid, but I pay – with pain, sweat and misery. But after it is all done, it is the best feeling out there to be able to ride, to be able to race, to be able to climb, and to be able to do it faster than the majority of people out there. It is a job where the only person that can promote me or demote me is myself, it’s a job to which if you do not give it your all you might as well not give it anything as you will loose it all so fast. But is a job that I job, and is one that I will take over every other job every single day of my life as it allows me to roam free, to do as I want and to go as fast as I want without anybody telling me what is right or what is wrong. It is just me, my bike, and my job to do the best that I can possibly can to become the best that I can possible can.

Being a Entrepreneur is and will always be my primary profession. But Cycling… Cycling it is my second job and my passion as well!
